Thin Lizzy - Whiskey In The Jar - My Beat Club
As one of a few Irish hard rock bands in the 70s, Thin Lizzy is still best known for the songwriter and singer Phil Lynott and the their musical influence on many heavy metal bands. The double lead guitar harmony of tracks like "The Boys Are Back In Town" were a draft for forthcoming bands like Iron Maiden and Def Leppard. "Whiskey In The Jar" is Thin Lizzys rocking version of an old and often performed traditional Irish song. Sadly, the talented and - an exception in hard rock music - black Lynott died on January 4, 1986 after a heart attack as a result of years of heroin addiction.
